We have a lot of meetings, sessions and hearings here inside of the European Parliament. Yesterday, European People's Party organized an event dedicated to the current state of a common market of telecommunications services - called Telecom single market.

Yep, German Pirate Party, the biggest Pirate Party in Europe (when it comes to the amount of members) had a general assembly this week. New board of the Party was elected, together with new President of German Pirates (Thorsten Wirth).

Yesterday, I had a nice opportunity to see the public hearing about the proposed directive related to the Single Telecommunications Market.

This monday I had a nice opportunity to visit Belgian Pirates - in Antwerp, one of the largest cities in Belgium (and the largest one in Flanders). Antwerp is a very nice city - and the place we met at Dageraadplaast was great. As it is very often with Pirates - we talked about politics. 

Yesterday, Amelia participated in the Cybersecurity forum - an event organized by the Security and Defense platform; a military think-tank here in Brussels. The main topic for the evening was simple - how to demystify security as a topic and how to attract new specialists. Everyone has its own view where the problem might be.

Julian Assange. Collateral murder. Bradley Manning. Cablegate. It's been a while since these words made it to the worldwide media. I still can remember the moment when the whole case stormed the general public discussion. As I remember correctly, almost everyone was talking about this issue and even the people from Wikipedia were affected by this;  being afraid for getting linked with the Wikileaks page only because of the -wiki prefix.(which would be like looking for a connection between United Airlines and Manchester United).

One of the smallest countries in Europe - Luxembourg - held its national elections yesterday. Pirate Party of Luxembourg, one of the successful Pirate parties in Europe, tried to make it to the national Chamber of Deputies.
