NOw that we have reached a momentary status quo, its time to reflect on the situation and hopefully learn from it.
I was going to look through the ppi mailing list, but something in this post of yours, possibily answered my question.
Some of the intel that came via pp-channel, where not only cery bad but also potential leathal, certain pirates where some of the first to spread particular information, we know for a fact came straight from the circles of Ben Ali, that could have only happen for the following reasons:
1. Treason, someone deliberately acting as an agent (not very likeliy)
2. Personal ambitions, someone trying to make themselves seem more inportant, well connected etc, very selfish (Quite likely and a well known trade amongst certain folks in ppi)
3. Plain stupidity, youthfull spirit.
Revolutionay work, is more than watching a twitter feed, and once you get involed, the life of people you have never met, becomes your responsibility. It is not a game, its not something to get involed with to boost ones ego, or because one needs entertainment.
Every action suddenly gets a billion reactions, so I urge every one to learn from this, especially if we want to be taken serious next time around.
Its to late for the pirate parties to claim this scalp, those who where on the battlefield know how it went down.
On a slightly diffenrent note, when you say:
"It’s a global community engaging in global values, not solidarity with people far away."
I seriously doubt, if your understanding of solidarity is radical different from mine, or if you conveniently placed in safety, view this as simple entertainment.
It could also be, that you have some kind of ideological reason for the statement, but Im ready to make this claim:
Without solidarity, altruism and a true understanding of creativity and eternity we are going to fail big time.
