I have more than 13 years experience of working in technology policy and standardisation. I'm based in Brussels, Belgium where I serve as risk and compliance officer with Safespring AB and interim managing director at Universal Privacy Alliance. This is a role which combines several topics dear to me: European ICT and data protection compliance.

Previously, I have been Senior Standards Manager at Sky Group and Director of Strategic Initiatives at CENTR. I worked for ARTICLE19:s digital program with human rights in technical standards in IEEE 802, in the IETF, and in the 3GPP, and for ANEC with consumer rights in the internet of things in ISO PC 317. I was a Member of the European Parliament in the 7th legislature on behalf of European Pirates (see also archives) and a member of the Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) of the Internet Governance Forum between 2013-2016. In Autumn 2016 I spent three months as a visiting researcher at Centre for Internet and Society in Bangalore, India. You can find other stuff here.

Between 2015 and 2024, I was chairperson at Dataskydd.net Sverige. In 2020-2022, I was a technical privacy advisor to the Rethinking Data project at Ada Lovelace Institute in London. Between 2019-2021 I was a digital rights advisor in the Acceptable Ads Committee too. Between 2016 and 2020 I was a member of the editorial council for Liberal debatt, a Swedish liberal ideas journal. Until May 2023 I was in the response team of EDRi.

Between April 2023 and September 2023 I was on a sabbatical to do volunteer work and develop my language skills, particularly French and Dutch. I studied mathematics and mathematical statistics at Lund and Uppsala university, and business law at Lund university. I enjoy learning languages, gardening and reading books, or listening to electronic music.
