Thank you, Chairman, ladies and gentlemen, participants of the Internet Governance Forum 2012.

My name is Amelia Andersdotter. I am a member of the European Parliament on behalf of the Swedish Piratpartiet since December 2011. I am mindful of the fact that I am one of only two women speaking in the opening session. Also, I am probably the youngest person speaking. I am only 25 years old.

This week I have had the chance to presence my first parliamentary committee meeting. Concretely, I have been in the one dealing with the reform of the EU data protection framework. It has been very interesting and exciting to presence how things work in the European Parliament. Due to the importance of this regulation the room was crowded, and participation during the slot for questions and remarks was very high.

Last Tuesday, I attended an event at the European Parliament on the Internet Governance. It’s one in a series of events discussing the future of the Internet from the perspective of government. Governance of the Internet is usually divided into two parts, a technological part, from a perspective of an engineer, and a regulatory view taken from the perspective of government. Number of states would like nothing more than to destroy the decentralised architecture of the Internet, which makes it such a unique and powerful tool to use.

Jag gillar inte imaginära varor så mycket. Jag köper att man i elektricitetsläran och åtföljande produkter måste använda sig av imaginära tal för att kunna beskriva statiska värden i situationer där man... Ja. Deriverat eller integrerat, men imaginära varor går lite bortanför min gräns.

Jag tycker faktiskt inte att argumentet för att domännamn skulle vara egendom är särskilt nyttigt, eller att de i sådana fall utnämna dem till varumärken.
