You are correct! I'm very happy that librarians are standing up for their rights to perform the very important public service they provide.

At the same time, it's difficult for me not to be disappointed that politicians are unable to take responsibility for these issues. In Sweden we've had librarians talking in media about how certain types of copyright infringement cases would be useful to clear out legal uncertainties. I don't think librarians should have to ask to be sued to find out that they are important and valued by society - politicians should simply make better laws which take the importance of libraries clearly into account!
